The tape Morphology is an 8 minute loop with no audio which
shows a number of high school and college aged girls from Sackville,
New Brunswick feigning a faint for the camera, auditioning for
a VERY dramatic role. This tape playfully engages the codified
behaviors of looking and codified behaviors of being looked
at. The camera watches as the girls ironically ape the image
of the romantic heroine which they have inheireted from film,
novels, and television soap operas.
